This election bodes well for a Democratic trifecta and the real change it brings. Be very careful what you are asking for you, may just get it.
Dateline: November 4, 2008
- Senator Barack Obama captures more than the requisite 270 electoral votes.
- Democrats take 63 seats in the Senate – giving them total control of all legislation in the Senate.
- Democrats take 288 seats in the House – giving them total control of all legislation in the House.
December 15, 2009
- The Electoral College meets and Barack Obama is elected as the next President of the United States.
Dateline: January 3, 2009
- The 111th Congress meets and the Democrats take commanding control of each committee in both the House and the Senate.
- Nancy Pelosi is again elected Speaker and she appoints Barney Frank, again, as Chairman of the House Finance Committee, despite the cloud over his head about his role in the financial meltdown.
- Harry Reid is again elected Majority Leader. He immediately reappoints Chris Dodd as the head of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, despite the even more ominous cloud hanging over his head about the financial meltdown.
- Executives at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac can be heard cheering from the parking lot of their respective headquarters.
- Henry Waxman is told NOT to investigate Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Chris Dodd, or Barney Frank.
Dateline: January 21, 2009
Barack Obama’s inauguration is over and he immediately publishes his agenda.
- Reinstate the now expired domestic oil drilling ban.
- Despite the recent 20% loss in the oil industry corporate capitalization, levy a windfall profits tax on the oil industry. The industry immediately prices the windfall tax into its products, thus raising the price of gasoline and diesel fuel to the public.
- Obama notifies the Pentagon about coming cuts in our defense capabilities.

- Allow the Republican and Bush tax cuts to expire. While promising not to raise taxes on the middle class and to cut taxes, the expiration of the tax cuts is in reality a tax increase. Reinstatement of the cuts is in Democratic parlance, a tax cut.
- Eliminate the FICA dollar cap for payroll taxes, thus creating a 7% tax increase for all earners over $102,000.
- The economy is in such terrible shape, left over from the Bush Administration, that the $250,000 cut off on taxes is not $150,000 – Biden has already started to spread this news.
Dateline: January 21, 2009
- Pelosi unleashes a myriad of spending bills , no longer fearing a Senate 60 vote requirement for passage or a Presidential veto.
- Reid and Pelosi, start to dismantle America’s security apparatus, weakening our national security, without fear of Senate blockage or a Presidential veto.
- A comprehensive immigration bill providing citizenship for illegal aliens, and reduction in the border fence program works its way through Congress. Passage is assured with no veto.
- Trade tariff bills work their way through Congress with no possibility of a veto. Protectionism begins.
- Employee Free-Choice Act rapidly passes – this allows union organizers to intimidate workers into voting for a union – the secret ballot will be gone for workers. This bill was sponsored by Barack Obama.
- The Fairness Doctrine is reestablished, meaning the end of talk radio, and opposition opinion.
Essentially the election of Obama coupled with the number of seats won by the House and Senate Democrats, because Americans believe that the financial crisis was all the doing of the Republicans, has now placed this country on the superhighway to socialism. A Democratic Party trifecta made up of the Senate, House, and Executive Branch means that future replacement Supreme Court Justices will be very young, far left, and will steer the court as far left as possible for the next 30 to 40 years. Checks and Balances will not be heard from again for years to come.
