The left, in there blissful rapture that they are more attuned to how things should be and how we should think, also believes that they are more astute than the right. They believe that the Neanderthal right and many of those knuckle dragging independent centrists have less gray matter than they do. This belief is now giving the left the hubris to believe that they can sell a bill of goods to the right and to those ever important centrists. That bill of goods is called the “Springfield Card.”
If you have not heard of the Springfield Card, it is a code for Obama’s experience. Forget the incredible lapses in judgment by hanging unquestioningly for twenty years with Reverend Wright and Father Flegler. Forget his opinion of those knuckle dragging blue collar workers who cling to their guns and religion because they are bitter. Forget that he would talk, without preconditions, to the terror leaders of the world – as if he can persuade them to forget all this terror non-sense without appeasing them. Forget that his experience in the Senate, actually sitting in the Senate doing the Senate’s work, was enough to learn where the rest room and the cafeteria were. Forget that he has not sat on any committee of any real substance, until this 110th Congress, where he is a committee chairman who never chairs a committee. Forget that he has not sponsored any meaningful legislation on his own or sponsored any meaningful legislation by working in bipartisan manner. His work with Richard Lugar does not count because Lugar is a Republican in name only. This towering piece of legislation, they concocted, is designed to keep weapons like shoulder fired rockets out of terrorists’ hands. This controversial piece of legislation probably took some mighty bipartisan work to get it through.
The Springfield Card is that, if elected President he will have spent more time in a state legislature, doing local stuff, than any other President since Abraham Lincoln. Remember that his voting record in the Illinois State Senate is mostly a string of voting present and not Yea or Ney. He rarely took a position or was accountable? Forget the fact that McCain has more U.S. Senate experience, more Senate Committee Chairman or ranking member experience, more experience in world and national matters, than all of Obama’s combined experience.
Yet these folks on the left believe that they can sell the Springfield Card to the right and to the centrists as a key credential to be the leader of the free world. The LA Times has begun to push this forward. The Washington Post started to push this forward in February 2008. This post is not an endorsement for Senator McCain, but rather it is meant as a rebuke of the intent to influence public opinion about Obama’s experience by the left and the left media, because they think they can get a way with the charade. Just how dumb do they believe the rest of us are?

As usual, you are right on target except that obama is saying what the left and the working man wants to hear. The facts and the truth don’t seem to matter anymore. The country is a mess. The war, economy and the lack of an energy policy all while the Republicans were in the drivers seat and did nothing while they were there is going to be a hard sell to the American public to have them believe another Republican will make a difference.I personally believeMccain with all his faults has the ability and experience to make the change. But i am only one vote.

So his record is a lot like that of Abe Lincoln, huh? What a devastating indictment. Maybe Barack can save the union for a second time. It’s in jeopardy now from the campaign of a guy who is so rich he can’t even remember how many houses he owns. Obama still remembers what it was like to be middle class. That’s why I am voting for him.
